2025 Workforce & Justice Summit

May 13-14, 2025
Seattle Convention Center | Seattle, WA

The 2025 Workforce and Justice Summit brought together over 150 businesses leaders to tackle a critical question: How can businesses address today’s workforce needs while breaking down outdated barriers — in both corporate and public policy — that keep millions of Americans with criminal records shut out of jobs?

Hosted by Microsoft at the Seattle Convention Center, this event arrived at a pivotal time. With shifting hiring norms, an uncertain labor market, and growing questions about how consumers expect businesses to show up for their communities.

Amid this uncertainty, one theme stood out: business leaders overwhelmingly agreed that inclusive hiring and support for fairer justice policies are among the most powerful ways companies can strengthen their team, earn public trust, and rise to today’s challenges.

Key Quotes

“The single best solution, the single largest, most overlooked pool of talent, of course, are people who’ve been impacted by the justice system. That’s our number one opportunity.”

- Jeffrey Korzenik, Senior Vice President, Chief Economist, Fifth Third Commercial Bank

“How do you get the best out of people? You create a fair workplace... Companies on this pathway towards justice and fairness earn 8.5 times the revenue of organizations that are not.”

-  Julian D. Lute, Insights and Innovation Strategist, Great Place to Work

“Roughly 10% of our new hires over the last five years have been individuals with records... We let the individual’s skills speak for them, not their record.”

- Nan Gibson, Executive Director, JPMorganChase PolicyCenter
